Since the military has taken over power and the government in Guinea-Bissau, it has caused many problems. The biggest problem involves drugs. The militry is known for being the largest group to transport drugs. The president at the time was set to have his term expire, but the military didn't wait that long and they overthrew him sending the nation into a downward spiral. The military now not only controls the drug trafficing, but also the government.
This sounds like a terrible situation to be in. If the military is in charge of drug trafficing and the government, I'd imagine that they would be in a sort of war within their own boarders. I picture it being mass chaos. It is never good when one group holds too much power in the first place, but then when you add drugs to the mix it complicates the issue.
This is an important article to better understand Guinea-Bissau, because they are lacking a proper government right now due to the military. Most times the military is not seen as the enemy, but in this case they control all drug trafficing, adn this was believed to be a way to further the trafficing. The whole governmental system is nonexistent anymore, and it will take much work if they are expected to return to a normal nation with an actual form of government again.
